Annual Conference 2014

In 1989, ASQ Vancouver Section 408 became its own, officially sanctioned Section of ASQ International.  Since then, we have been the key association within British Columbia for business professionals in the many varied fields of quality management.  Offering certification, training, networking and community involvement to its members, we have grown across the province to be 400 members strong.

On May 29th 2014, ASQ Vancouver hosted a Quality and Business Excellence Celebration at the Executive Suites Hotel & Conference Centre in Burnaby.  This day-long event featured distinctive speakers covering a myriad of topics including Lean, Six Sigma, business process improvement, personal excellence and many more.

The event closed with a dinner that featured an overview of our success of the past 25 years. The gala closing also included honoring our long-term members and the presentation of the very first ASQ Vancouver Quality and Business Excellence Award to Avcorp Industries, a local BC business.

Registration is now closed.

Avcorp Industries Inc. wins the 1st Annual ASQ Vancouver Quality and Business Excellence Award

Vancouver, May 29th, 2014 – Avcorp Industries Inc., a leading provider to the aerospace industries has won the 1st Annual ASQ Vancouver Quality and Business Excellence Award. The company was presented the award at ASQ Vancouver’s 25th Anniversary Celebration held in Burnaby on May 29th.

The award was developed by the Section Leadership Team of ASQ Vancouver in 2014 to highlight companies operating within British Columbia that advance the ideal of Quality being the differentiator in good business practices. The award is based on four key areas: Quality Focus, Customer Focus, Education Focus and overall Business Excellence. Companies in BC were encouraged to submit an application outlining how their company excels in these areas. The submissions were then judged by a panel consisting of business leaders and quality management professionals.

“We are very excited to announce Avcorp as the winner,” said David Muncaster, Chair of ASQ Vancouver. “We had a number of remarkable companies submit from all over the province from such diverse industries as Health Care, technology and manufacturing. With this many outstanding contenders it certainly created an intriguing challenge for our panel of judges to work through the submissions and pick an overall winner!”

It is companies such as Avcorp Industries Inc. that continue to show leadership by supporting Quality Management as a prime factor for advancing individual and organizational excellence within British Columbia.
