First Global Assessment on the Current State of Organizational Excellence

Launched by the Organizational Excellence Technical Committee (QMD, ASQ) on March 31, 2015, the ‘1st global assessment on the current state of organizational excellence’ is intended to provide data on the extent to which the principles and best management practices of high performing organizations are characteristic of organizations accordingly to size, industry sector and country. The aggregate findings are intended to provide a snapshot on the current state of organizational excellence around the world and a summary of strengths and opportunities for improvement.

So far, organizations from 29 countries and 21 industry sectors have participated in the research. This presentation will provide an overview of the preliminary aggregate results for Canadian organizations and a comparison to their global counterparts.

About Dawn Ringrose

Dawn Ringrose is Principal of Organizational Excellence Specialists and has consulted to management in areas that positively contribute to organizational performance since 1984. She is currently the Canadian representative for the Global Benchmarking Network and the Organizational Excellence Technical Committee (OETC), Chair of the ASQ Canada Collaborations and Partnerships Committee and Co-Chair of the first national conference that will be held in 2017, a representative on the Canadian committee contributing to the development of the ISO 20700 standard for management consulting and Chair of the Canadian Committee that will be developing guidelines for implementing an excellence model and related ISO standards.

In 2010, Dawn authored a publication for excellence practitioner’s entitled the Organizational Excellence Framework (OEF). The OEF is unique in that it integrates leading excellence models and provides implementation guidelines used by management consulting and quality management professionals. She has also authored an accompanying consulting toolkit to assist with implementation that includes: scenario games, an automated assessment and reporting tool and series of holistic and modular workshops. In collaboration with the OETC, she is conducting the ‘1st global assessment on the state of organizational excellence’ that will share aggregate results by organization size, industry sector and country. Dawn has presented on the OEF at international conferences, trained professionals in 20 countries, was approved as a Registered Education Provider for PMI and published articles with: the Global Encyclopedia of Public Administration, Public Policy, and Governance (Springer),The TQM Journal (Emerald), Gazeta Global and Quality Management Division (ASQ), Business Process Improvement Resource, Centre for Organizational Excellence Research, South African Quality Institute and OES blog.
